Eelco Dolstra
Eelco Dolstra started the Nix project as a PhD student at Utrecht University. He currently works at Determinate Systems. In 2003, Eelco Dolstra started Nix as a research project. Dolstra says that the purpose of the project was to achieve a system for correct software deployment. Previously was a PhD student and postdoc in the Center for Software Technology at Utrecht University, a postdoc at the Software Engineering Research Group in the Department of Software Technology, Delft University of Technology, and a computer scientist at LogicBlox.
Elan Feingold
CTO and Co-Founder at Plex, Inc. Elan has been involved with the creation of innovative technology for over a decade. As Vice President of Technology of MusicStream, he lead the creation of a sophisticated Internet music platform which integrated music and social networking. Prior to that, Elan managed a team at Aravox Technologies responsible for developing software for Aravox’s proprietary VoIP firewall platform, and later assisted in the transfer of technology after Aravox was purchased by Alcatel. Before Aravox, Elan worked as Director of Engineering at AetherWorks creating a groundbreaking VoIP platform which unified ATM, ISDN, and other telephony protocols. Additionally, he was responsible for the design and creation of a cross-platform universal messaging client. During his time there, AetherWorks was acquired by Nx Networks. Elan holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Cornell University.
Elizabeth K. Joseph
Elizabeth K. Joseph is a Developer Advocate at IBM focused on IBM Z (mainframes!). Previously, she spent time working on Apache Mesos, and four years as a systems engineer on the OpenStack Infrastructure team and six years on the Ubuntu Community Council and has held various roles in the Ubuntu community and is the co-author of The Official Ubuntu Book, 8th and 9th Editions. At home in San Francisco, she sits on the Board of Directors for Partimus.org, a non-profit in the Bay Area providing Linux-based computers to schools in need.
